Spending & Savings Accounts For 9th-12th Graders
Teen Honors Banking will help students in high school manage their money – and get rewarded for good grades! The program gives students a spending account (also known as a checking account) and savings account with all the latest technology to manage money on-the-go.
$50 Good Grades Bonus*
Students in the program with a cumulative end-of-year weighted GPA of 3.5 or better can receive a $50 bonus – each year they qualify. Simply bring in your report card or transcript at the end of the year (by July 31st) to be eligible.
*The Teen Honors Banking Program is available to account holders in 9th–12th grades. After the primary account holder turns 21 years of age, the accounts will be converted to a Simply Free Checking account and a Simply Savings account, which will be subject to account terms and conditions. Enroll in free monthly statements or a monthly paper statement fee of $5.00 per month per account will be automatically withdrawn from your account. Annual Good Grades Bonus of $50.00 is available to students in 9th-12th grade who submit an end-of-the-year report card with a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher. The $50.00 bonus will be deposited to the account holder’s savings account in the form of an interest payment.

Visit one of our branches to open an account. Both the student and parent/guardian must be present at the time of account opening. The student must be the primary account holder, with a parent/guardian as the joint account holder.
To open the account, please provide the following:
- Child’s name, birth date, social security number and form of ID.
- Acceptable forms of ID include, passport, social security card, state ID, driver’s license, birth certificate or school issued ID.
- Parent/Guardian picture identification, such as a driver’s license or passport, social security number, address, phone number and email address.
- An initial deposit for account (cash or check). Minimum to open is $50 for the Spending Account and $50 for the Savings Account.
